Terms of Service
Last updated: May 8, 2026
Welcome to Marrow. By installing or using the app or this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. The service
"Marrow" refers to the Marrow desktop and mobile applications, the Marrow server, and the website at marrowbible.com — collectively the "Service." The Service is operated by the Marrow project maintainers ("we," "us").
2. Your account
You may use Marrow to read the Bible without an account. Some features (note sync, Marrow AI) require you to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for activity under your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, harm, or spam others.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network.
- Attempt to extract our API keys, abuse rate limits, or use the Service to train or evaluate AI models without permission.
- Use the Service in ways that violate the law or the rights of others.
4. Bible text
The Bible text included with Marrow is the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain. You're free to copy, quote, and share the text from Marrow without restriction.
5. AI features
Marrow's explanation, prayer, and topic features use large language models. These models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading output. Treat AI output as a study aid, not as scripture or theological authority. Always verify against the text itself and trusted sources.
If you bring your own API key (OpenAI, Groq), you are responsible for any charges that provider bills you and for compliance with that provider's terms.
6. Subscriptions
Paid tiers (such as Marrow AI and Note Sync) are billed through Apple, Google, or Stripe via RevenueCat. Renewal, refund, and cancellation policies follow the platform you purchased through. We can adjust pricing for new subscribers; existing subscribers will be notified before any change takes effect.
7. Your content
You own the notes you create. By syncing notes to our server, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, transmit, and display them solely for the purpose of operating the sync feature on your devices. We will never sell or share your notes.
8. Our content and trademarks
The Marrow name, logo, and design are ours. The application code is published on GitHub under its license — see the repository for details. These terms don't grant you rights in the Marrow brand beyond the normal use needed to use the app.
9. Open source
Portions of Marrow are released as open source. The license posted in the GitHub repository governs your use of that source code and supersedes these terms for that purpose.
10. Service changes and availability
We may add, change, or remove features. We aim to keep the server available, but we don't guarantee uptime. The local app remains usable for offline reading even if the server is down.
11. Termination
You can stop using Marrow at any time and request deletion of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. After termination, locally stored content remains on your device.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that AI output is accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months (if any). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
14. Governing law
[TBD] These terms will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Marrow is operated. The specific governing law and venue clauses will be finalized before launch.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you in-app or by email if you have an account.
